SecureNow, a New Enhanced Security Service, Launches March 19, 2024

First Community Bank and Trust is excited to introduce SecureNow, a new enhanced security service to further protect FCBT customers when logging into First eBanc and First eBanc Mobile. March is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and it’s the perfect time to add additional security to protect customers from cyberattacks and to protect your accounts from harm.

On or after March 19, log into either First eBanc or First eBanc Mobile to activate SecureNow. You will be prompted at log in to provide phone numbers that may not be on file with us. Please finish activation during the first time you log in as to not disrupt the activation process. You will receive a text message or phone call, chosen by you, when activation is complete to verify activation.

After activation, when logging into your accounts, SecureNow offers multiple ways it secures your online banking sessions, including:

  • Out of Band Multifactor Authentication: SecureNow uses a one-time password sent via SMS text message or voice via requested phone call.
  • Login Defenses: At login, SecureNow checks for the following: evasive device and location schemes, strong recognition of device and location, fraudulent devices, devices connected to other bank fraud and malware indicators.
  • Behavior Analytics: SecureNow has defenses in place for digital banking behaviors which indicate a user may be operating with stolen credentials along with strong recognition of post-login user behaviors.

These security techniques are always working behind the scenes. If you log in from the same device and the same location, over time you will infrequently be asked for additional authentication. However, if you change your behavior, move geographic locations often or change your device, you will be challenged for additional authentication more frequently. Again, all of this happening behind the scenes to be less intrusive to you but to add additional protection for you and your accounts.
