First Community Bank and Trust Attends Annual CBAI Convention

October, 2019 - In late September, 240 bankers from across Illinois and 173 exhibitors gathered in Springfield, Illinois for the 45^thAnnual Community Bankers Association of Illinois Convention and Expo. First Community Bank and Trust’s Vice President, Steve Koehn and Vice President of Commercial Loans, Cameron Ohlendorf attended the conference. The three-day convention, which followed the theme “There’s no place like a Community Bank” included a golf tournament, silent auction, and many informative sessions covering some of the most important topics relevant to community bankers. “This year’s event was full of timely topics and great speakers. There were also some events and speakers geared towards bankers who are at the beginning of their career, like myself. This allowed me to network and share experiences with my peers” said Ohlendorf.

Attendees also had the chance to meet in the Exhibition hall to view new products and services, meet current vendors, network and brainstorm with their colleagues. Steve Koehn commented “The CBAI Annual Convention in Springfield was a valuable experience. Catching up with fellow bankers from around the state, attending the legislative luncheon for Capital issue updates and participating in the many scheduled events is fun and rewarding. The breakout sessions are also very useful and thought provoking. I am looking forward to bringing some of these ideas back to First Community Bank and Trust and continuing these important discussions. In addition, meeting vendors in the exhibit center is always a good way to see new technologies in the Community Banking space.”
